social commerce. analysis by brian solis.

Brian Solis has written a very insightful article about the rise of social commerce entitled The Decline of Asocial Shopping and the Rise of Social Commerce. He has done a great job of connecting the dots to help us understand that there is a bit of a commerce (r)evolution going on. We are buying in goods and services in groups together with thousands of strangers. We are taking advantage of the benefits of broadcasting our locations to get a deal. Or are we being taken advantage of...well, that's a another debate. With the advent and popularity of services like Foursquare and Groupon, we are finding new ways to buy and save. These are more than trends, they are the beginning of the new shopping experience.
