A logo is a graphical mark or emblem used to promote instant recognition. If done well, even the simplest of logos are effective (think Target or Nike). When done poorly, they can be awful. Effective logos are visual executions of a brand. Recently, I ran across some amazingly creative logos here at Toxel.com. It is another great resource for design inspiration.
